Harvesting and Processing, Summer 2025
Hmm, as often, I find myself on catch-up here on our News feed - a little behind schedule!
Enjoying a summers day on Harvie
Harvesting went pretty smoothly this year; around 17 tons landed through May 2025. Operations on ‘Harvie’ at sea were slick to the extent that daily harvest volumes were limited by operational capacity in processing back on shore rather than at sea. As such, the harvest was spread over five days through May. The landed kelp was Primary Processed at EcoCascade in Kyle of Lochalsh to achieve a stabilised product, stored in 220L sealed blue barrels.

Through the summer, the majority of these blue barrels were then pressed to form our Biostimulant liquid and separated dry cake. The Biostimulent liquid has been subject to numerous crop trials over the last few years with promising results. In a distribution partnership we look forward to announcing in the near future, this Biostimulant Liquid will be available for farmers by the end of the year.
