Dried Kelp Soil Improver / Fertilizer

KelpCrofters Kelp Meal is a concentrated alternative to adding fresh seaweed to your garden (1kg of dried seaweed is equal to 10kg of wet seaweed). Mix it directly with your garden soil to provide a slow-release source of trace elements, nutrients and plant growth hormones that will improve soil quality and nutrition, and feed your plants through the year. It also contains good bacteria and alginates that help the soil hold more moisture and increase the microbial population in your soil. This improves soil quality so you can grow larger, healthier plants.

Our Kelp Meal is made with a mix of seaweed species, including sustainably farmed Alaria esculenta (winged kelp) and Saccharina latissima (sugar kelp), and hand-harvested Ascophyllum nodosum (rockweed) from pristine Scottish waters. This blend of cold-water species gives our Kelp Meal superior nutritional and growth-promoting properties, making it an excellent all-round soil improver and plant feed. It is also very sustainable, has a low carbon footprint and is environmentally friendly. This Kelp Meal is the best gift you can give your garden!

It is a 100% natural, non-toxic product, safe to use around pets and children.

For vegetables and beds: Apply 50-100g Kelp Meal per square metre, and thoroughly mix in top layer of soil (50g Kelp Meal fills about half a cup).

For bulbs, potatoes, and transplants: Mix 1 teaspoon Kelp Meal into the soil under the bulb or seed potato or transplant.

For containers: Add 1 tablespoon of Kelp Meal per 5 litres/5kg of soil and mix thoroughly.

Top dressing: Sprinkle Kelp Meal at 50-100g per square metre on soil or grass or around the base of plants/trees.
